Working a case
Generate a demand letter
Draft from your own documents, check the citations, edit, and export to Word.
Unlike the chronology and expense summary, the demand letter is never generated on its own. You trigger it, from the Demand Letter page for the case, when the records are in and the case profile looks right.
Before you generate
- Confirm every document you're waiting on has been uploaded and finished processing.
- Open the case profile and check the facts the letter will use: parties, carrier, adjuster, policy limits.
- Skim the chronology for anything obviously wrong.
Generating
Click generate and give it a few minutes. The draft is written from the documents in this case, not from a template, so every factual claim traces back to a page you supplied.
Citation views
- Annotated — inline source labels, for your own review
- Footnoted — numbered superscripts with a references list
- Clean — no citations, ready to send
Review in Annotated or Footnoted so you can see what each sentence rests on, then switch to Clean for the copy you actually send.
Editing and exporting
The draft opens in an editor with the usual formatting controls, and your changes save as you type. When you're happy with it, export to Word for filing or sending.
Regenerating replaces the draft. If you've made edits you want to keep, export first.
